Baja California is a Mexican state across the United States border from San Diego. Mexicali is the state capital. The Baja is generally desert located between the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. Primarily a fishing village, San Felipe of the past had an economy that also benefited from tourism. However, with the change in Mexico law in 1994 which allowed foreign principals to own land, construction has brought many new permanent residents to the area. - Source: Wikipedia.
